I've read alot this morning and as I read more on the subject of food, I find that my focus continues to fall on developing a personal food culture. Though we mass market and flood our minds everyday with food related messages, through advertising and mass media, food is a very intimate and private matter that affects us in ways we usually aren't even consciously aware of in our entire being.
One of the aspects of food and eating that is discussed often, both socially and clinically, is portion size. It's easy to critisize the eating habits of others, particularly when taking a meal in an all-you-can-eat buffet. Actually, the subject of portion size is a subject that we should all give consideration. Unconsciously, any society can incremetally change and the subtlety of that change can occur in such a way that, as a society, we don't even notice it.

When Roland and I met, I was one of those people who opened the box or can and warmed up the family meal. After our marriage in 2005, I truely began to appreciate what food is really about, not only that it can taste very good, and be nutritious, but that it can be a celebration of who you are and the people that you share it with.
